Indonesia Imports Drop Less than Estimated
Imports to Indonesia tumbled 9.24 percent year-on-year to USD 15.34 billion in November 2019, compared to market expectations of a 13.32 percent fall, and after an uupwardly revised 16.46 percent drop in the previous month. Oil and gas imports slumped 25.55 percent to USD 2.13 billion, mainly led by crude oil (-22.89 percent); and purchases of non-oil and gas shrank 5.91 percent to USD 13.21 billion.

Imports to Indonesia tumbled 16.39 percent year-on-year to USD 14.77 billion in October 2019, compared to market expectations of a 16 percent fall, and after a marginally revised 2.4 percent drop in the previous month. Oil and gas imports slumped 39.82 percent to USD 1.76 billion, mainly led by crude oil (-59.12 percent); and purchases of non-oil and gas shrank 11.75 percent to USD 13.02 billion.

Imports to Indonesia shrank 2.41 percent year-on-year to USD 14.26 billion in September 2019, compared to market expectations of a 4.2 percent drop and following a marginally revised 15.74 percent fall in the previous month. Oil and gas imports slumped 30.5 percent to USD 1.59 billion, with crude oil tumbling 49.04 percent, while purchases of non-oil and gas rose 2.82 percent to USD 12.67 billion.

Imports to Indonesia tumbled 15.60 percent year-on-year to USD 14.20 billion in August 2019, compared to market expectations of a 12.9 percent fall and after a marginally revised 15.19 percent decrease in the previous month. Oil and gas imports slumped 46.47 percent to USD 1.63 billion led by crude oil (-56.08 percent), while purchases of non-oil and gas dropped 8.77 percent to USD 12.56 billion.

Imports to Indonesia tumbled 15.21 percent year-on-year to USD 15.51 billion in July 2019, compared to market expectations of a 18.21 percent fall and after a downwardly revised 2 percent growth in the previous month. Purchases of non-oil and gas contracted 11.96 percent from a year earlier to USD 13.77 billion, and those of oil and gas slumped 34.29 percent to USD 1.75 billion.

Indonesia Imports Rise for 1st Time in 6 Months
Imports to Indonesia increased 2.80 percent year-on-year to USD 11.58 billion in June 2019, missing market consensus of a 5 percent drop and following a downwardly revised 17.30 percent plunge in the prior month. This marked the first yearly increased in inbound shipments in six months, amid continual efforts from the government to reduce purchases and help manage the country's current account deficit. Purchases of non-oil and gas rose 8.15 percent to USD 9.87 billion while those of oil and gas contracted 19.99 percent from a year earlier to USD 1.71 billion.
