Ukraine Inflation Rate Lowest in Over 3 Years
Annual inflation rate in Ukraine edged down to 7.5 percent in September of 2019 from 8.8 percent in the previous month and slightly below market expectations of 7.8 percent. It was the smallest inflation rate since June 2016, as cost slowed for food & non-alcoholic beverages (8.8 percent vs 10.2 percent in August); housing & utilities (5.4 percent vs 5.8 percent); transport (1.3 percent vs 4.6 percent) and restaurants & hotels (11.3 percent vs 11.7 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced faster for miscellaneous goods & services (10.1 percent vs 10.0 percent) and clothing & footwear (0.1 percent from a flat reading). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.7 percent, after a 0.3 percent drop in the previous month.

Ukraine Inflation Rate Below Forecast at 4-Month Low
Annual inflation rate in Ukraine fell to 8.8 percent in August of 2019 from 9.1 percent in the previous month and below market expectations of 8.9 percent. It was the smallest inflation rate since April, as cost slowed for housing & utilities (5.8 percent vs 7.3 percent in July); transport (4.6 percent vs 6.8 percent) and clothing & footwear (a flat reading from 0.2 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (10.2 percent vs 9.9 percent)and miscellaneous goods & services (10.0 percent vs 9.8 percent) while inflation was steady for restaurants & hotels (at 11.7 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.3 percent, following a 0.6 percent decline in the previous month.

Ukraine Inflation Rate Edges Up to 9.1% in July
The annual inflation rate in Ukraine rose to 9.1 percent year-on-year in July of 2019 from 9.0 percent in the previous month and in line with market expectations. Prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (9.9 percent vs 8.5 percent in June); clothing & footwear (0.2 percent vs 0.1 percent) and for restaurants & hotels (11.7 percent vs 11.6 percent). On the other hand, cost slowed for housing & utilities (7.3 percent vs 10.4 percent); transport (6.8 percent vs 8.7 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (9.8 percent vs 10.1 percent) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (15.2 percent vs 15.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.6 percent, following a 0.5 percent decline in the previous month.

Ukraine Inflation Rate Slows to 9% in June
The annual inflation rate in Ukraine fell to 9.0 percent in June of 2019 from May’s five month-high of 9.6 percent. Cost slowed for food and non-alcoholic beverages (8.5 percent vs 9.2 percent in May); transport (8.7 percent vs 9.0 percent); restaurants and hotels (11.6 percent vs 11.7 percent) and miscellaneous goods and services (10.1 percent vs 10.2 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased 0.5 percent, down from a 0.7 percent gain in May.

Ukraine Inflation Rate Rises to 5-Month High
The inflation rate in Ukraine rose to 9.6 percent year-on-year in May 2019 from 8.8 percent in the previous month, as prices rose at faster pace for: food and non-alcoholic beverages (9.2 percent vs 7.4 percent); transport (9 percent vs 8.1 percent); recreation and culture (3.2 percent vs 2.9 percent); restaurants and hotels (11.7 percent vs 11.4 percent); and miscellaneous goods and services (10.2 percent vs 9.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.7 percent in May, after a 1 percent advance in April.

Ukraine Inflation Rate Rises More Than Expected in April
Annual inflation rate in Ukraine edged up to 8.8% in April of 2019 from 8.6% in the previous month and against market expectations of 8.5%, as prices rose faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.4% vs 7.0% in March) and for transport (8.1% vs 7.3%). On the other hand, housing & utilities inflation was steady (at 13.2%) while cost went up at a softer pace for furniture & household equipment (3.9% vs 4.1%); clothing & footwear (1.8% vs 2.0%); restaurants & hotels (11.4% vs 11.8%); recreation & culture (2.9% vs 3.1%); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (17.0% vs 17.3%); communication (17.3% vs 17.5%) and miscellaneous goods & services (9.3% vs 9.8%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 1%, following a 0.9% gain in March.
