Consumer prices in Senegal increased 0.2 percent year-on-year in November of 2017, easing from a 0.4 percent gain in October. It was the lowest inflation since November of 2016, as cost went up at a softer pace for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.2 percent compared to 0.8 percent in November) and fell for communication (-0.6 percent compared to -0.7 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (-0.2 percent compared to -0.3 percent)and housing & utilities (-1.4 percent, the same as in November). Meantime, the inflation was steady for restaurant & hotels (2.2 percent); furniture & household equipment (0.1 percent); health (0.5 percent) and education (0.6 percent) while went up for clothing & footwear (0.3 percent compared to 0.2 percent); transport (a flat reading compared to -0.1 percent) and recreation & culture (2.8 percent compared to 2.7 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased 1.1 percent.
